Dear Dad,

I am writing to thank you for all your wisdom and continued encouragement day in and day out as my father. As you know, graduating and moving into adult life in D.C. has been a significant challenge: complexities at work, adjusting socially, grappling with society and my place in it, and learning how to have faith are examples of problems that I have faced. For each of my doubts amidst persistent uncertainty, you have provided a perspective that has grounded me, helped me to persevere, and most importantly grow and adjust my outlook. You encouraged me to think big picture when I was frustrated by a specific problem, believe in God when I did not believe in myself, and consider other opportunities when I was frustrated by my circumstances. Since moving to D.C., I have been blessed to grow tremendously, but none of this growth would have been possible without all your time and genuine care.
